Terms of Service
Last updated: September 11, 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your use of CodHoot, a programming learning and practice platform currently available as a developer preview. By using CodHoot, you agree to these terms.
CodHoot is an actively developed product. Features, content, and platform behavior may evolve during development.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use CodHoot. By using the platform, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the capacity to enter into these terms.
3. Account Registration
To access certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Attempt to compromise the security, integrity, or availability of the platform or its infrastructure.
- Submit malicious code intended to attack the platform, other users, or external systems.
- Abuse execution resources, including excessive or automated usage designed to degrade service.
- Attempt to access other users' data without authorization.
- Attempt to escape execution isolation or sandboxing restrictions.
- Engage in denial-of-service activity or unauthorized network activity.
- Use the platform to distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content.
CodHoot may restrict or terminate access where activity presents a security, availability, or abuse risk.
5. Programming Code and User Content
You retain ownership of code you write on CodHoot. By submitting code to the platform, you grant CodHoot a license to process, store, and execute that code as necessary to provide the service.
CodHoot may access your code for purposes of providing the service, debugging issues, improving the platform, and enforcing these terms.
6. Compiler and Execution Services
CodHoot provides browser-based code compilation and execution. Code is executed in isolated environments, but CodHoot does not guarantee that sandboxing is perfect or impossible to bypass.
Execution resources are provided as-is. CodHoot may limit, throttle, or restrict execution where usage patterns present abuse or availability risks.
7. AI-Assisted Features
CodHoot may include AI-assisted features such as tutoring, code suggestions, and feedback. AI-generated output may be incomplete, incorrect, outdated, or unsuitable for a particular situation.
You are responsible for reviewing and understanding any code before using it. AI-assisted features are tools, not replacements for professional engineering judgment or independent verification.
8. Educational Content
Learning content on CodHoot is provided for educational purposes. Completing courses, challenges, or projects on CodHoot does not constitute professional certification, employment qualification, or guaranteed competency.
9. Intellectual Property
CodHoot, its branding, design, code, and content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by CodHoot. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform without prior written consent.
10. Third-Party Services
CodHoot integrates with third-party services (Supabase, Render, Vercel, AI providers). Your use of these services through CodHoot is subject to their respective terms and policies. CodHoot is not responsible for third-party service availability or practices.
11. Availability and Changes
CodHoot is a developer preview and may be unavailable periodically. Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time without notice. CodHoot is not liable for any downtime, data loss, or changes to the platform.
12. Suspension and Termination
CodHoot may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms, security risks, or abuse. You may also delete your account at any time through the Settings page.
13. Disclaimers
CodHoot is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. CodHoot does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CodHoot shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the platform.
15. Changes to These Terms
CodHoot may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
