1. Introduction
CodHoot is an actively developed programming learning and practice platform, currently available as a developer preview. This Privacy Policy explains how CodHoot collects, uses, and protects information when you use the platform.
By using CodHoot, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

5. How We Use Information

6. Authentication and Account Information
CodHoot uses Supabase for authentication. When you create an account, Supabase processes your email address and password (for email/password authentication) or OAuth provider data (for Google or GitHub sign-in). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Supabase maintains its own privacy policy regarding how it processes authentication data. You can review Supabase's privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
7. Code, Compiler, and Submission Data
When you write code, submit compiler runs, or create projects on CodHoot:
- Source code and compiler output are stored in CodHoot's database to power the compiler, workspace, and project features.
- Code may be sent to third-party execution environments (such as Render) for compilation and execution. These environments receive your code only during the execution request.
- CodHoot operators can access submitted code and execution results as part of providing the service.
Do not submit code containing secrets, credentials, or sensitive personal data unless you understand it will be processed by CodHoot and its execution infrastructure.
8. AI Features and AI-Related Data
CodHoot includes AI-assisted features such as AI tutoring and AI code assistance. When you use these features:
- Your prompts, code context, and related data may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI) for processing.
- These providers process data according to their own terms and privacy policies.
- CodHoot does not control how third-party AI providers retain or use data after processing.
Review the AI provider's privacy policy for details on their data handling practices. Do not include sensitive personal data or confidential code in AI prompts.
9. Cookies and Local Storage
CodHoot uses cookies and local storage for:
- Authentication tokens: Stored to keep you signed in.
- Theme preference: Stored locally to remember your light/dark mode choice.
